Bonjour Lynn!

Your banana sticker card arrived safe and sound yesterday: thank you very much, and merci beaucoup. It does seem to be a labour of love (for bananas? for Dean?) and I wonder how big will the eventual thing be?

Yes, your Summer in Sigean piece did arrive. And it was exhibited. And admired. I'm sorry that I did not acknowledge it at at the time, but I was overwhelmed (still am, but with other art projects). I received over 550 envelopes for the Summer exhibition, making it one of the largest in Europe this summer.

I got so far behind in writing thank you's -- and I soon realised that I couldn't afford to send written thank yous, on cost grounds, as I originally intended -- that I just posted some photos of the exhibition panels.

Naughty of me, I know...but if you'd like to join in & write about 400 other thank you's, I'd welcome your help.

Thought not!

Anyway, thanks again & regard, Val

Thanks for the cool denim postcard. Truthfully, I don't remember what I sent you. I sent out a bunch at a time and I don't remember who got what. My memory just isn't what it used to be.

It's a cosmic combo, "encourage" and "corrupt"--kind of like real life! You juggle them so well.

Ah, dearest Lynn - I received your gorgeous card yesterday - thank you so very much! As I said when I posted the scan, I believe you "must have been using that focus tool of hers and looking into my heart when she chose the colours....%_^)"  It's very interesting how different the composition looks when you used the contrasting colours here (not literally, but you know what I mean...), as opposed to the monotone/chrome version you posted last week... a somewhat plaid/textile design sense comes across in this one that didn't in the other...I never cease to be amazed at the power of colour... (This is why I prefer more muted colours to brights generally - all of the immensely variegated nuances can be so much more eloquent because less facile (obvious), thus seeming deeper to me...) Aaaanyway.... Thanks again mon amie!

All righty, then, that's the spirit--exactly what was needed. Results shortly. Thanks my dear!

In the press here last week the portrait of a Republican who runs for the senate (in one of the Southern states) and who defends the position in public debates that raped women cannot get pregnant because a self defense mechanism in the female body prevents that in case of rape. This incredible F**** nonsense to defend his position (the real agenda) he is against abortion in ALL cases.

Now about the hidden agenda of our press! It is to show that the USA is full of lunatics and that our leaders are so great (compared 2) and/or please back Obama, he is a saint and saviour (compared 2 again).

Wrote this text for Guenter Schwind, in the present context I could say it is an attack of americanism. The concept that something is american or non-american (the heritage of Mc Carthy) has never been quite eradicated...

Well, everything about it was ingenious, Lynn, including your careful packaging. Its existence remarks on so many things about our society. I love it no matter what! For its speaking as well as all the other art-trash-history aspects mentioned earlier. Today I managed to get decent photos, so it will be blogged soon. You were really great to think of me for it!

No Lynn, I do not drive a car!

Anecdote: In 1997 I want to collect some money at a bank in Chicago and they ask for identification.

I give them my ID card. What’s this? My identity card. ??? Can you give us your driver’s license. Don’t have any. I do not drive a car.

They looked upon me as if I was scum of the earth and a possible highrated criminal.

They refused to give me money!

HOOT HOOT HOOT.

You live in a craaazyyy country, Lynn, hoot hoot hoot.

(True story by the way)

You're a wildwoman, Lynn. IT arrived and is a RIOT!!! You probably didn't know of my passion for old signs, so this has EVERYthing--rust, dents, scratches, bullet holes galore--maybe they even tried to burn it--letters, crookedness. I love love love it, Lynn, thank you thank you thank you! Blogging it will be a blast, so to speak.

TrahPo Bubbles, very well explained and very, very beautiful. I also tend to keep nice packaging but never thought of such transformations could happen. TrashPo Mindfulness will be my meditation subject this evening. I see if I can make a quick Zen TrashPo object to fix the attention on. This could be a new cult altogether.
