Yes, that's always the real issue -- whether to erase or discard the crap in our output, or keep it until we can appreciate it for the genius that it truly is.
I think the offense was the result of a complete misunderstanding, and the resulting brouhaha will probably make everyone more cautious in the future.
The real problem is the structure of Ning sites. All comments look the same superficially, but they have different formats and intended purposes. It's very confusing. And SLOW, what with waiting for all the images to load whenever you switch to a different page and try to move down the page. The natural response is to make any comment one has in the nearest text box.
So you should feel free to post at the Novel group, even if the appropriate apology doesn't materialize, or to post anywhere else you choose. However, I have to put in another plug for the Cosmopolitan Breakfast Cushion and its fine sponsor Linen Depot. It's specifically designed for free discourse with no serious subject matter, so no one can take offense there.

The serious is the decay of Venice and flooding caused by global warming. We are getting a little of that too less about a few thousand years. How do those buildings stand up in all that water. And rats too.

Yes, the foot/bike bridge appears in Google Earth, and also in Google Maps but they are both a little confused about where it is.

I'm so envious. In my country, bicyclists don't even get a special lane on bridges, much less a bridge of our own. We're expected to share traffic lanes with 100 km/hr cars. Using a railroad bridge would be much safer, if only we had railroads.
And I see the rocket museum now.

Four second reverberation time! That's like a cathedral. A good place for a performance. One of the most memorable evenings during my first visit to Europe in 1972 was seeing Xenakis' light & sound show 'Polytopes de Cluny' while lying on my back on a mat in a very old, very tall, groin-vaulted stone room, which at the time I thought was Cluny monastery even though it was in Paris. Maybe it was the old chapel in the Musée de Cluny. If so, they've really cleaned it up since then.

Yes, it's understandable that you would prefer to use the Noorderbrug. The railroad bridge would be a more direct route to the Media Markt, but it takes a very keen sense of balance to ride a bike on one of those rails. They should make them a little wider, at least over bridges.
So, then you continue on Franciscus Romanusweg, past the lovely waterfront park with a music hall and underground parking garage, and a view of the harbor and city center, and then you cross the river again on the Wilhelminabrug?
Perhaps you can clear up a mystery for me, about the wall that divides the river into a wide lane and a narrow lane between Sint Servaasbrug and Wilheminabrug. What is its purpose? Google Earth is full of such mysteries.

Hi Rod. I just saw your comment about my mailbox lock. Sorry about the mishap. Do you mean this bridge? That is a long trip.

Those combination locks are very old. When they break, the PO replaces them with simple key lock cylinders. Mine broke a couple of years ago, but I didn't want to switch, so I spent half a day taking it apart and figuring out how it works and then making the adjustment it needed. Hope this doesn't throw off your shopping list.
