Un saut dans le vide / prière haptique - from Bifidus Jones

This blog post has no immediate effect on your health.
If I hear or read " X or Y has no immediate effect on your health" one more time my head will explode. Seriously. With immediate and irrevocable effects on health.
OK, enough ranting :-))

This is the last card I got before the earthquake and didn't have time to blog. Bifidus's cards are always a perfect blend of humor and aesthetics, I haven't seen a work by him that wasn't special. This one is no exception and it somehow consoles me from not getting his fantastic chapter from the 26 book (I know, my fault).
The first window with comic strip is hilarious, I can't stop laughing when I see little dog and little bear's flabbergasted/terrified expression (reminds me that I should hide the candy stash from that CLP too).
Little mouse behind the grid was a bold move for a postcard, but it arrived without a hitch. It is followed by a detail of one of my favorite photos, le Saut dans le vide by Yves Klein. We were talking about this at the time I was sending out angry holes, because of Klein's fascination with Void. The anatomical drawing is a nice extension of the photo, the arm fully stretched in a glorious jump. In the middle of the card there is a braille message I can't decipher, what does it say Bifidus?
References to Klein continue on the back of the card. The artist was also an accomplished judoka and travelled to Japan to refine his skills. I don't know whether the headless judoka was intentional or if an accident happened on the way :-))
I am talking about photography and judo, but the message of the card is actually a haptic prayer. A handwritten prayer in French to the god Merz, a bedding to one of Bifidus's nicest cut outs:
What a chance I had!
I should have, while I could.

I think I don't need to say more, I love it, Bifidus, merci!

Generous blog, Marie. Merci and arigato. The Braille merely says 2011 and yes that fellow did have his head on when he left St. Paul. It's wonderful to have you back at IUOMA.

Marie, incredible mail-art, even for Bifidus, who never ceases to amaze. Your explication, an informed yet very direct personal response, really completes the process of the exchange. Beautifully written. I SO hope you will return to your old blog quota! I value these so much.
