They hold up the world (very special ladies) - from Cheryl Penn

Today I give you four very special ladies. They might seem a little bit different at first, but they are one of us. And we are one of them.
Cheryl is a heck of a painter, and no less of a story teller. She is working on another volume of The Chronicles of Lyrehc, and those are some of the characters of the book. I think I would read such a book in one go and start all over again. And again. Looking at those paintings and reading Cheryl's words, I find a lot of that magic that I felt with the story of the Crimson Giant. I have to write down what is written on the back of each card, you'll see what I mean.

Queen Lyrehc

She lost her eye in The Great Battle
She would never want it back
She wears the scar like a black
Pebble, shining under her skin.
It's for remembering.
Things forgotten but yet to come,
Wisdom in all her stitching.

I am one.

The Pilot

The only Dabta Star Child
Remaining in all the known
universe.
Say anywhere you want to be
They will take you there.
They are they but they are one.

I am one.

The Tokoloshi

Remember when you were small
And you tried to jump from the
Door to your bed because
SOMETHING would bit your legs off
If they managed to grab you from
the dark?
These are them.

I am one.

The Aeon

Shes vaguely wise most of the
time. She talks incessantly.
No heroine this
Cinderella's antithesis.
Time keeper of the ages
Writer of unlasting pages

I am one.

Cheryl, this is absolutely fantastic! And you're right, ATCs would have been too small for these larger than life women. I'm so lucky, I know it...
Thank you so much for sending, and thank you for the messages on the envelopes (I nearly got half of it) :-))

Absolutely. Cheryl has a knack for taking inner life truths and making them beautifully external. Love the sewing around those lips.
