Bifidus has not been around for ages and I miss him, so I begged him to send me something. He very kindly granted my wish. I've been wondering where he could possibly have gone, and I hope this is not him sending me the answer from purgatory! So I would like to see this piece as a reference to Dante's Purgatorio instead, with Bifidus finding himself somewhere between Inferno and Paradiso.
This is an A5-sized altered book cover, a children's book from the sixties. In Bifidus' world elephants don't mind burning oceans, neither do men with cow heads, and birds (can you see it?) without bodies are happily swimming with the fishes.
It's a great piece, a very precious one. Sometimes, if you want something, it's enough to ask for it. I'm really glad I did. Thank you Bifidus!

So good to see Bifidus art! Bifidus is in "limbo" of sorts, busy caring for his elderly father. I imagine not much time for art making. But this is a wonderful piece, as only Bifidus can make...precise cuttings and collage overlays. May all be well for Bifidus and family! xxx

Oh phew, I sent Bifidus some mail art yonks ago and haven't heard back from him. Then a few days ago De Villo said something like 'Bifidus, I miss him' at Trashpo I think, and I was too frightened to ask if Bifidus was dead, like when I thought RCBz was dead in Cheryl's "memorial" blog, but now that Bifidus isn't dead I'm so relieved!!!

Cheryl,

I'm sure you can imagine my panic upon recieving it, I think I actually said outloud to myself "Oh sh!t...what have I gotten myself into?!". Although he was very gracious & complemented my first attempt at Mail-Art, which was admittedly not that great.

Lucky lucky you :-) - Austin - my first piece of mail art from America ALSO came from Bifidus - and completely out the blue - I remember the day SO clearly! I miss him too - MAYBE he will resurface one of these days?
