A tribute to Estonian composer Arvo Part: We have been conversing about contemporary composers and share an appreciation of Arvo Part. Part's "Tabula Rasa" came up as Guido was working on this incredible painting, and it evolved into a tribute to Part. I was enjoying seeing it in fragments in Guido's photos, and then, to my great surprise, the whole large painting arrived in the mail! I am thrilled to have it, and on the back Guido wrote:

In order to connect

we have to disconnect

in order to connect,

Tabula Rasa!

Great food for great thought. As a side benefit, this painting came rolled up in a tube and was surrounded by some Belgian newspaper--very exotic for a Mainer in the U.S., and perhaps a good idea to consider when sending something fairly large to someone in another place. Throw in something that might be everyday to you but would be exciting and different to someone elsewhere.  Thank you very much for everything, Guido (including for your patience while I think more about my Book of Ann pieces)!

I do feel lucky, Cheryl, yep. Aside from this being such a beauty, I need all the blank slates I can get, plus all the blank slate reminders!
