Way back in June Marie sent me this lovely poem. A Precision Collision of East and West, a silent sepia movie with libretto by Brion Gysin. Low comedy and high art. The order may be mangled but I'm not entirely sure the narrative thread suffers from the tangle.

The text:

Some

as if do

dream,

you do

al, I also used

You must go

and see for

here's not problem

shower or bath, ho

clean, and if any

could

tremor

suggest

some calculations

check the scale

declared, as for

not

find

a

in all

wing-flaps

e, the  north

north, where

line drawn on

wind, water,

soil, the line....

flashlights, but

porters invented

into the lounge

As with all Marie's work, there's mystery and comedy, integrity and poetry in the chance meeting of word and image. Some as if do, dream, you do....Thank you, Marie...wherever you are.

What about a animated Chinese Martial Arts film called: "Emoticons Must Die"? Lots of swordplay. Lots of robotic romance. Sample dialog: "Die, you insipid typographical holdover from the ice age! Your heart is hollow, your sentiments hard to swallow. Can I offer you a marshmallow?" We apologize for the poor translation.

Some fine work by Marie & really excellent commentary, David: "libretto by Brion Gysin." I think there is some serious cut-up action going on here.

"some calculations

check the scale"

"not

find

a

in all"

Ron Silliman move over. Aram Saroyan breaks into a sweat. The French have landed.
