RECEIVED: Mail-Art Invitation from Valentine Mark Herman (Sigean, Southern France)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Valentine Mark Herman (SigeaN, France)

January 12, 2010 - Still digging out from the avalanche of holiday mail, I was pleased to find this large post-card size piece from Val. He is a multi-talented artist, and I think his greatest passion is using stamps in his work. He was also very involved in Jon Foster's Punk Mail-art Revival and apparently served in the National Reserve in the era of the British Invasion. Mark seems to have had a party in December, which I was unfortunately not able to attend. These were the performers? These are luminaries I should recognize? I am not sure,  but Val will fill me in next time we have a chance to chat. The front is great too:

Many thanks, Val. We can look for to many trades in the year ahead, I am sure.

South of France in spring time is a dream. The world is supposed to get smaller and smaller these days, but I feel like miles away from everyone. Is anyone ever going to have tea and sushi with me in Japan?

And jen, in addition to tea (Darjeeling or sancha, no milk but lemon available) there's be lots of the excellent local wine, pastis, and calvados.

Having tea at Val's with De Villo would be the best day ever.  Must plan ahead.
