Please Note: David's Stafford's tribute to Pete Seeger arrived on time.

It's the blog that's late:Man, you caught Pete's posture and everything. Sending Pete plus Dylan dying and being reborn at the Newport Folk Festival on the back of an old Kingston Trio 45 record cover ensured that I'd die of nostalgia. Thanks, Dave ...

Would you kill me if it was 1957?

"Default posture"...we all must have one...I never thought of it before...I love it...

1956! But that's the date of the thing you got from me. I refuse to lower my expectations; it's always a wasted effort when you advise it, you know.

Well, as you know, I always advise people to lower their expectations. But it is, in fact, raw ephemera, unsullied by art or artifice, single-owner, hasn't been out in the world on its own since 1956. So it is pretty cool by my lights. The backside not so much. But (throws up hands in a world-weary shrug that seems to be his default posture).

Aw, then I'm surely a lucky duck from your diving into your detritus. You even sent me raw detritus a while ago, which is still much appreciated, and perching on new shelves for inspirational and other use. If your latest overhaul took just one weekend, you could teach a class to the rest of us sufferers, and I'll certainly take it. ...

Thanks, Nancy. Serendipitously, your mail arrived today. I sympathize with your overhaul effort. I did something similar last weekend and in the act of diving into my detritus I came up with two or three new pieces. One of which went out yesterday to you!
