Karen has put so much into this piece, it is going to be difficult for me to write up something that can convey how touched I was when I read her message. It tells about a long journey. Searching for someone and searching for herself along the way, and in the end, the story of a redemption, if I can put it this way, I think it is not too strong a word. The woman sitting on the bench and posing for the photo is Karen's mum. The words "he recognized that expression" from the collage on the left side of the picture says a lot about the piece and could be a second title to it. I know how precious this photo is to Karen, and the way she built her art around it to tell her story is amazing.
Karen, I can only say thank you for sending this to me, and for writing those few lines, it means a lot to me.

Beautiful work, Karen, very moving. And Marie, thank you for blogging it. I usually am a loss for words to describe someone's art, but posting it and sharing it, makes it "speak" for itself. this is a  beauty!
