My stampsheets are still in New York, I want them returned.....!

Greetings from Dadaland was an exhibition at the Stendhal Gallery in April-May 2010. I sent in a selection from the TAM Rubberstamp Archive and went over myself doing a lecture explaining my views of the network. One year later I am confronted with a real problem connected to this exhibition. Harry Stendhall, the Gallery owner of Stendhal Gallery , has yet to return the 670 stampsheets he has in New York. I have asked him often, also asked John Held as a currator to help me on this but the sheets are still not here. I have set a deadline twice (Januari 2011, and now June 1st 2011) for him to return my belongings, but he allways promisses that he will do so, but actually doesn't. So with the second deadline I have told him I will go public with this problem, and will seek help in this. Probably also my lawyer in forcing the return of this specific part of the TAM Rubberstamp Archive. It seems that mail-art and the official art-world don't always fit well together. The collection that Harry Stendhal has is essential to my basic collection I have here in Breda. It needs to be returned. Any advice in how to deal with this situation is welcome.

Yes, will keep you posted on new developements. I kept things sillent for a year so Harry had a chance to just send them back. After a year of waiting I have had enough. The network goes fast, so the message did reach him already. Says again he will send it, but when I have  Fed Ex number I can trace, I know that he has done something. So far only empty words..... (he also never paid back the travelling costs for my flight to NYC which he promissed, and it was an expensive ticket because I had to book on short notice (like 1300+ euros))

Keep me posted. I can always go down and pick something up and mail it. I only know about this gallery because of Ruud's show there.

Sounds like a Harry episode all right.  I hope he's Stending in the Hal when my mail arrives.

Well, if actually someone would go to the gallery and would just mail the box, I would be more than happy to pay for the postage. The last thing I heard, it is packed already, but could be empty words as well.

Yes Kat. It's very disturbing. I am close enough to the city that I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

Who lives in New youk City? Or near by? Sloan...you reading this?

Someone go to the Stendhal Gallery and pick up Ruud's TAM 670 stampshees (!)

box 'em, post 'em and get them back to Ruud!

The Gallery doesn't have the time or the money or the interest  to do this?

Geez...must be the American "recession": "got no dough"?.

Hope you get them returned soon, Ruud...there are some rare stamps in that collection!
