This card does not reveal the sender, so I am making a wild guess. I think it is from David Stafford, who's pieces elsewhere are being sold for hundreds and thousands of dollars! He kindly offered to send me something for free.

I had a look at David's work before and have admired how he cleverly produces fake book jackets, advertisements and posters with references to the recipient.

So here is a card which supposedly features a book jacket of a work of fiction by a xx jones. The colours and the texture of the paper are perfect. The style is reminiscent of fin de siècle Vienna - a great Koloman Moser type font that is; "The Grotto of Forbidden Desire" could refer to one of the famous spas in Budapest, which once was part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Naughty! Thank you very much! I am not going to auction it off, but shall find an appropriate place for it!

You can't steal a willy, Vizma. I did it from memory.

Did you steal the willy too, or is that yours? Er, your design?

Classy porn....that's my style, Vizma. I took the sperm from old Edvard M. Only steal from the best.

That's classy, yes. "Get your Gier off" would've been off-colour...

You're welcome, XX. I was going for an viennese secession kinda look....The font is actually P22 Vienna Black.

I'm so glad you have a familiarity with the typography. Kolo (named for Koloman Moser) is another of my faves from this genre. I hope it wasn't too off-color. I think randiness is fine if it's tarted down with finesse. Whether I achieved that or not is open for argument.
