I had a bit of an advantage as many of you know Nancy Bell Scott is my number one trashpo supplier. In the latest trash package, she sent me some actual NBS scraps.  I found it surprisingly difficult to mimic her distinctive style. In doing so I discovered that while Nancy's style appears random and chaotic, the choices are all very calculated, such as the torn paper never has any raw edges.  These are based on vintage Nancy as her latest pieces are moving in a more minimalist direction.

lol--those are my scribbles faking your scribbles, which may or may not be a fake of CPSA's asemic writing.  I do like your minimal adventure, particularly because it will be easier to fakein the future

You mean those are actually my scribbles? Then I'm the biggest fraud of all! I just clicked on each one separately, saw them in full on my screen, and they are beautiful, Diane--incredible job! You take over the hard work, I'll continue with my minimal adventure (which could be fake also).

i think fake Rauschenbergs are next on my list although i don't imagine I will have a lot of luck with it. where is the CPSA asemic writing?

The asemic writing is fraudulent. That's Cheryl Penn asemic writing in the middle of NBS fakes, making these fraudulent NBS fakes with certain fraudulent CP elements, which could mean authentic DKs that are plagiarized as all get out. And don't you do a great job of it! The middle is my favorite. It's truly a bizarre sensation to behold these.

Richard is right, he wrote this under a photo recently:  "25.01.14 Dare Ms. Nancy Bell Scott,   Yeah,... "Fake Rauschenbergs!!!...but we are not likely to see any fraudulent Nancy Bell Scotts...too intricate &  refined...too much work. All best to you. Richard."  I'm glad he was wrong as well as right.

RC--it was clearly the thought that counted and I appreciate the support---Ning's version:

BIG THUMBS UP

Post Scriptum: I tried clicking on the "Favorite" symbol several times for emphasis & glorious praise but every time I tried... it would subject my previous gesture.  That Ruud Janssen runs such a tight ship.

Funny RC--missed your comment about that. Honestly I agree that had I tried to create a NBS fake from raw materials, I probably would have given up.  I don't have the same muted colored paints, so the pops of color are definately a deviation. Only Nancy will know what was hers and what was mine and I hope she weighs in soon.  I hope I have done her proud. She might rethink sending me her 'trash' if she knows I might start profiting from this 'restoration'.  maybe it is more accurate to call these Altered NBS, since they are not made completely of her own stuff

Oh & if there are real NBS scraps here, maybe you call it "Restoration"?

I love this: Authentic Fakes, Fake Fakes, Fradulent Fakes...

These NBS fakes are scary because I could be fooled.

You know, in San Francisco back in the day there was a healthy industry amongst the old hipsters of typing up gibberish on old typewriters, signing them "jack Kerouac," cooking them in an oven and selling them to rare book collections.

Who's to say what's fake, fraud or authentic.
