I need to destash my Mail Art Archive. It has taken over way too much of my house. What do you all think of this idea:

I will gather up a batch of pieces of mail art from different artists and mail them to anyone who asks for a batch. It will be pretty random. I'm going to keep things I love, obviously, but try to part with the rest.

If you would like a small batch of genuine Mail Art from my collection, message me, OK?

And you will agree, please, to not send me a batch from your stash in return! That way lies madness!

Martha - When you said, '... in boxes ... in the cellar. To be dealt with by my heirs or the people that buys the house ...' , you reminded me of experiences clearing out the house and all my parents' possessions. My sister and I now realise how much is normally just thrown away.

We were able to take our time, so boxes and boxes of photos, for example, have gone to museums and archives, and each of them commented how much they appreciated the donation, and how much children just throw out all this 'old' stuff. My sister and I look at our own possessions and realise the situation could be helped if we just made lists of people and places to contact for the things we know it would be a shame to see go into waste disposal. You - we - have knowledge about that which someone else probably wouldn't have.

But I do also like the idea about sending random bundles of things off!

I am in the same boat, for so many years! My solution has been to put it in boxes and archive it in the cellar. To be dealt with by my heirs or the people that buys the house when we go into a Home, whoever is the first. As it will not happen for a long time yet, I hope, there will be much, much more.
