Budget goodie bag - from Jennie Hinchcliff

I met Jennie at the Tokyo Art Book Fair last summer, where she had a stand. This was also my first encounter with art books, and my fist encounter with mail art. What can I say, I fell in love. I owe Jennie a lot, without her I wouldn't be aware of this very special world of mail art, and she is a truly nice person and a talented artist.
The (plastic) envelope she sent me cracked me up. It is a traditional japanese household budget envelope. Each month one can write how much one spent and how much much is left, a very efficient way to save money, it says. And all the money is kept in this envelope which, you'll have to admit, is very practical :-) great envelope!
Inside I found a loooooong and heartwarming letter, and a lot of cool paper/scraps/cutouts/bits/pieces gathered off of her bookbinding classes. How thoughtful, thank you Jennie, it is going to be a special pleasure using them!

You guys are CRACKING ME UP! I'm blushing, really truly I am...thanks so much for all of your kind words and compliments... :-)

It's true, I'm involved in the MA365 project -- Katerina, I just sent a postcard to you! As for Marie, well, there's another something in progress for you. I consider myself very lucky to have met you in Tokyo, and I really truly hope we get a chance to meet up again!

As for my hair: it's sheer force of will which makes it stand up like that. And coffee. Lots and lots of coffee!

I bought her book as fast as I could open internet after coming back home from that art book fair. It's really nice.

And her hair, yes! :-))

Oooh this is sooo cool.  Plus- Jennie? FAMOUS!  She wrote the book on mail art.  And she has cool hair too. I'm jealous.

I think Jennie is also a 365-ist, like you. A voracious one, as Snooky would say :-))

That map is a piece of a vintage map of Paris! I think I'm going to make more bookmarks, or trading cards.
