Absolutely smashing crushed can from Katerina Nikoltsou

This is in the top of the line of the Old Orchard Beach collection:

Yes, Katerina found this elegantly and thoroughly crushed can, and stitched it to a beautiful card she arted. I was ecstatic to receive this--it's like no other and has much soul. She did put the can + card in an envelope, which is why they reached me. Thank you again so much, Katerina! This was a day-maker, and more. I admire it every day.

Love them both A LOT.

No, how did I miss it? It's a little bit scary somehow! Don't know why. The large work to the right of the wheel rust, and the blue/orange/yellow beneath that one--did you do those?

No cheese today ...

That looks stunning on your wall--what a find--and with excellent other art I don't remember seeing before. Very good cans! Look at that folded one; don't recall one crushed into that shape. In some ways they're all like snowflakes, you know, no two exactly alike.

Oh that is special, it certainly is. Beautiful colors and edges, intriguing shape.

It's a beauty, and does almost look like silver jewelry and has nice weight to it, which I love. There is no marking or sign of a label, but it does have some burnt-looking edges, so you are probably right that it was in some kind of fire, Katerina. It sounds like you didn't get my comment when I first thanked you--a mortifying thought! It's on your comment wall, written August 9. I'm so sorry if you missed it and were waiting to hear. Mail-art suspense, isn't it fun ...

Yes Erni, the collection has grown quite big, thanks mostly to you but also to a few other contributors such as Kat.  I'll take a picture of it--am guessing 30 or 40 cans? Diane's trashmobile is something like what I've envisioned for the cans. A "hanging sculpture" is what I think I called it, this thing that doesn't exist yet. :--}

Love it!Kat's summer Blue Space looks like a giant gumball and when combined with the crushed can makes me think of a summer fair or carnival

Whew! 'Happy to see that it made it to Old Orchard Beach...I was worried there for a while.

It was soooo "silver" on the country roadside, just knew it had to go to Nancy.

Though there is no "rust", it has a area or two of "burnt" tones. It must have been

in a garbage fire (highly forbidden in Greece, but they happen). I still can't explain

how the can has no markings anymore...but it looked like a piece of silver jewelry

when i found it. So glad to you like Nancy! Me on the hunt for more :-)
