Ben Banville (aka Zona or Xona) died...... RIP

Message from Steve Random:

Dear Ruud,

With a leadened heart I must relay the passing of Ben Banville (aka Zona and later Xona), don't know if you corresponded with him in the Mail Art heydays of the 80's, but he was one of the best at art and just happened to be my best friend. I will put something on my page, but thought you might want to know and pass along.

Steve

3 Happy watercolor birdies landed in my mailbox yesterday after having flown all the way from Oregon!  My partner brought them inside quickly to warm them up and they were waiting for me on my typewriter when I got home from work.  I was really glad to have a bright, cheerful, colorful image to soak my eyeballs, so I brought it with me to work today.  Before I…

It has finally arrived from Victoria Vikki Johnson!

Twice Victoria had to send this packet of goodies,

but with ALL this unfranked US postage, on the second sending...it did arrive today.

Maybe the first envelope blocked the postal machine's space with Art of Kandinsky?…

Merry Christmas from Helle Pollas

Wonderful Christmas gift from Helle Pollas.  It's a decoupage painting on canvas size 15 by 15 cm.  I love the fresh and vibrant citrus colours.

Elvis is in the building...who sent it?

Well, Elvis is here, and with holiday greetings :-)

But I must direct my inquiries, and ask Elvis: who sent it? what does it mean? ...no name on card.

Aha...but there are clues, of course: from New Mexico...with that Albuquerque…
