Mail Art Trashpo from Diane Keys

Diane, I did get your mylar bubble wrap envelope with all the strange and wondrous contents. My apologies, as it arrived last week, but with my travel schedule, I was in a struggle to keep up with many tasks. But not to busy to sit and appreciate your "work."…

Mail Art from Petrolpetal

Thanks, Petrolpetal for the beautiful mail art. The envelope is detailed and wonderful. The art inside in simple yet rich. After I find out how much postage to put on mail to South Africa, I will send something to you!

Slow but steady

Mail art friends, sorry to be slow responding to the interesting and creative work I've been getting.  I work in education as a consultant and the beginning of the school year is always really busy until about Halloween. I have done a series of cards I'll send out this week with origami cranes inclosed in them.

a meager offering

I've been a little stuck with my mail art lately. I wanted to do a series on paper instead of fabric.  Since school started last week here, I…

Thom Courcelle fiber mail art

OMG! as the kids would say!

Last week I got this beautiful piece from Thom.  Wow!  So many interesting details.

Packaged in cellophane, some pieces move around.  There are fleur de lis confetti's, pictures, faux postage, tickets, hand crochet and hand knit elements.  And the tribute to fluxus chain stitched and cable knit into the back.

Thank you Thom.  This thing of beauty will be a joy for many years.

Jen Staggs postcard

I'm a bit behind in documenting some of the fascinating things I've been getting in the mail the last 2 weeks or so.  This one is from Jen Staggs, my fellow Texan. Thanks Jen!

Jen, I know you had rain and we didn't last week, but I think you've had more 100 degree days this summer.  Tomorrow will be # 70 for us breaking an all time record and…

Apologies for Postage Due

My sincerest apologies for the tamales candy cards which arrived postage due to some of all on my list of folks I owe mail to.  They were 6 inches by about 3 1/4, which is not too large, but the smaller dimension was less than 3 1/2.  There were some mylar confetti pieces, tape and ribbon stitched on the cards.  Did they get charged extra because they were an odd size? Anyone have theories?  I'd like to not make a mistake like that again.

More tamales

I've been unproductive in mail art lately due to my air conditioning breaking down and needing replacement when the outdoor temperatures were 105 (which it still is, but now I have a new AC system), and later due to working on finishing up a baby quilt. My apologies to those I owe mail to, and I somehow am not feeling like I'm being very creative with my ideas right now.  But regardless of that, working on the theme of tamales, which I sent out a couple of weeks ago, couldn't resist…

mail art from Jen Staggs

Jen, I love Wonder Woman! Too bad there are so few female superheros.  Thanks for corresponding with me, a fellow Texan.  I think you are just as hot up there in Dallas, if not hotter than we are here in Austin.  It's a good day for mail art. …

away from home

I'm sorry new mail friends, I've been out of state visiting my elderly aunt in Traverse City Michigan.  I mailed post cards to family and friends, but did only one mail art card.  Now I have arrived home to lots of fun and incredible visual treats in my mail pile.  I'll work for the next couple of days getting cards out to those who sent them to me.  I'm seeing some great stamps and images and faux postage from a variety of people.  I am such a beginner in all this, I hope you all will bare… Continue

a card from Linda Ward

I love tourist postcards, and this one from Linda Ward from Hawaii is great!

Thanks Linda.

I found this zippered pouch at my local independent book store, Bookpeople in Austin.

I knew I'd be sorry if I didn't buy it, and I knew I'd never find the materials to make something this great myself...

My first mail art arrived!

Many thanks to Mim for being the first to put mail art in my box.

I love it!  It looks like you've been at this a while since you have used a lot of official-looking but humorous stamps.

I really appreciate how welcoming everyone has been, I have a set of cards I will finish and begin sending out today.
