Young Bella, who lives down the street, recently heard me talking to her mom one day about mail art...I was very enthusiastic as I described what it is...Bella, age six, never let on she had big plans for my mailbox...
Feeling blue, I spent the better part of a day last week at a friend's place. When I got through the gate at home at dusk, I noticed several little bursts of pink flowers adorning my mailbox...as I got closer, I saw two envelopes and a bag of goodies from mother nature:…

The artist Jean-Francois Aillet invites you to collect your sample of sand from a moraine, from next to a waterfall or beside a river, along the shore of a lake or a stream, in a desert or on the border of an ocean. One should not, however, send him sand from a construction site. You are asked to document your collection of the material with a photo, taken as you are pouring the sand into a container.
