I got the back tires changed on our car. I asked the car mechanic if I could cut off part of the old tire to keep. He looked at me strangely and said that I was the first person to ever ask this question. I couldn’t think fast enough and blurred out; “It’s for my scrap book”. That sounded more respectable than telling him I was going to glue it on cardboard and send it half way around the world. He said; “go ahead, knock yourself out”, and rolled his eyes. I walked home and found the bow and a Paris parking card. What about the fork you ask? Well, I always carry a folding fork with me wherever I go. Doesn’t everyone? Fun facts: The phase; “A fork in the road” is quite international and is said nearly everywhere in the world except for China where they say chopstick. Also “Beware of car mechanic who speak with fork tongue” is international as well. But “Man who speak with chopstick”, is not said in China.
And in the end, this card only cost me about €160.00, but it is well worth it. Burn rubber Baby!

Thank you for posting this Dean!!!! The spoon is operational and I don't know what glue you use, but your pieces arrive intact. This is a hilarious piece and PLilly, I was thanking Dean for sending me my very own tire tread stamp. I think I will RK all my work from here on out in the comfort of my own home. Dean, you really make my head smoke trying to think of creative ideas to keep up with you. Thank you so much for sharing your wit and talent:)
Rubber feens we are sometimes called. Happy it made you smile. Now did I put that old bicycle ...
Whew! It's great to know I am not the only person who saves old rubber. When my husband scraps a bicycle tire, I am THERE to rescue it. Great card and fun story. Thanks for the morning smile.
