My parents were in their 40s when I was born. They were children of the Great Depression. My father served in the CCCs, then returned home to the coal mines, where he remained for the next 48 years. My parents married in 1935, in the heart of the depression years. My mother raised three children, then in her 40s gave birth to two more. Their outlook on life, their beliefs, and guiding principals came out of their struggles during the depression. This new series is a homage not only to my parents, but to all of that 'Greatest Generation.'
