To get into the elite side of the IUOMA , Val sent me an exam to complete. I disarmed it!

I failed to convinve the gendarmes that my intentions were honourable, but gave them a glass of pastis and the phone number of the young lady and they went away seeming quite happy.

(They didn't know who Michael Orr was; neither do I. But don't tell me 'cos I don't really want to know). Regards, Val

Scholars have noted the similarities between Urbanga and Urbunga for years, Val. DNA tests reveal a strong connection though they are half a globe apart. In particular their fondness for softcore porncone (slight nod to Michael Orr).

Urbanga aside I am wondering how this piece made it through the mails without a visit from the Gendarmerie. "Monsieur Herman, sil vous plait, Quels sont vos intentions?"

David, I'm not sure of the provenance of this stamp. I think it comes from Urbunga, which is a small Italian territory somewhere in Rome. It is famous not for its bread pudding consumption, but for its parties, or 'bunga's as they are known in the local dialect. On visiting Urbunga, one is often asked , 'Would you like to go to a party?' The only acceptable tresponse is 'Ur [or er] -- a bunga, bunga party?' And then one is invited to one of President Berlusconi's shindigs, that feature lovely ladies like the one on your stamp.

Regards, Val

Dean,

this is an actual commemorative issue from the tiny country of Urbanga which has no military but boasts a thriving postal system. They produce most of the bread pudding consumed in this country as well as the highly prized artisanal hand-knit ping pong balls. In 1987 they sent a crack Volleyball team to the Olympics but as luck would have it, there was no Olympics that year.

David,

Increditable, where did you get this stamp photo?  Well I am happy to say that we differ, which is a very good sign.  It was always Mary Ann for me with Gilligan in close second!  (just kidding)

So funny enough I found something the other day in Paris which reminded me of your photo on IUOMA.  So that project now has your name one it ... if I ever start and finish it.

Hope to see you in the mail soon.
