Hmmm, thinking about it a bit more. Zola is all fab but... I reckon nothing can beat Tender Buttons, you were right. If there has to be only one, that's the one.

Nana. Great. Brings back good memories. I liked that book.

Perfect. Zola - the official, approved author of MinXus. Na Na is indeed the ultimate MinXus story, in fact.

That's a very beautiful piece, Karen.

I started reading le rouge et le noir a long time ago, but I was too young then, only a child, and I never got very far into it. I remember I was very much into E. Zola back then, while all other kids hated reading his books.

Marie's just like a cop. Where are they when you need one? This MinXus Book Club was a good idea. I need a ruling on The Red & the Black.

Flaubert's "A Simple Heart" was selected long ago, mostly because of the parrot.

I don't know what else.Marie?

Actually it's been a long time since I read R&B too, and that was getting obvious. But our wonderful KC - through her intuitive vispo - has started a Stendhal revival. I seriously plan and want to re-read R&B now thanks to Claire, KC, & MinXus - to which it is actually relevant.

lol! (ah didactic obtuseness...please forgive my ignorance DW...:() Good for you my wise friend and rancher: I submit to the will & all-perceptive-vision (historic & otherwise...) of Minxus-Mind!

Then we need Marie. I know Rousseau's "Confessions" is banned for its position on spanking, but I'm not sure about the rest. I think she likes Gertrude Steins "Tender Buttons."

Yes, I know DVS - that's exactly why I thought Stendahl would be Minxus poo-poo!

We need a reading list.
