Digital image printed with Epson Ultra-Chrome K3 pigment inks on handmade flax/abaca paper, machine stitched onto a textured cotton twill fabric. (16"x23") Kete Whakaio, means 'a fine weave' in the Maori language. There are several kinds of Flax plants in New Zealand that play an essential role in the Maori culture. Flax plants grow to 12 feet in height. There is a spiritual aspect to a good fine weave. It is believed that artists are mediums through which the Gods create.
