Sugar Cube Zine begins september 2023-ongoing submit 1 8x4" work of art which will be photocopied for sugar cube zine and send in a fully decorated approximately 5x7" envelope as I am hand binding each zine for every submission in an original envelope. please make sure I can read the return address or I cannot send your documentation to all in the zine format as I already have on file 1 submission which I cannot read. Also hardly any one is decorating their envelopes which is a very specific part of the call and i will do my best to give the people who put the most effort into there work and envelope an equally great envelope in return as my crafty friends did go the extra mile and decorate and answer a mail art call which is outside of their realm of expertise yet submitted like experts!!! Not all just most did not decorate the zine covers. Please send to Sugar Cube Zine 27880  delton street Madison heights mi 48071

MAIL ART CALL – MAIL ART, ART TO RESIST #4

    BLACK FRIDAY IS A JOKE

Every year, Black Friday is a time of unbridled consumerism! Thousands of posters and adverts make our neurons flash to encourage us to buy, buy and buy again!

But are we, as consumers, the only ones responsible for this buying frenzy that pushes us towards products whose usefulness often remains to be proven and whose manufacture is, in the vast majority of cases, toxic for the planet? Or should we question the capitalist system, its polluting means of production and its supply-oriented economic policy which, through the factory of consent that is advertising, encourages us to surround ourselves with things that are far from necessary to our everyday life?

We invite you to use your creativity to think about these questions and come back to us with an artistic response! An answer that will, of course, travel by post!

Mail art, as simple as a letter in the post

    1. Take up the theme, transmute it through the alchemical process that is your creativity and illustrate it (free technique : drawing, painting, collage, silk-screen printing, calligraphy, embroidery, etc.)

    2. Send us an e-mail with your contact details (last name, first name, postal address and e-mail) to confirm your participation :  laurent.wilmet@afico.be

    3. Send the postcard or envelope before September 30 2025 to : AFICo asbl, rue Saint Nicolas 84, B‑5000 Namur, Belgium

    Maximum submissions : 2 // Required dimensions : 10x15 cm (4x6 inch)

    4. An exhibition will be held in Namur in late 2025.

APPEL ART POSTAL – ART POSTAL, ART EN RÉSISTANCE #4

    BLACK FRIDAY IS A JOKE

    4. Une exposition sera organisée à Namur fin 2025.

Celebrating World Collage Day with a Collage Lab in Beringen

On Saturday, May 10, we celebrate World Collage Day with a Collage Lab in Beringen: an open studio where collage artists come together to create, share ideas, and inspire one another. This is the perfect opportunity to meet new artists and be part of a growing, vibrant community centered around collage art.

    Mail Art

Leading up to the Collage Lab, we launched an open call for mail art. The submitted works will be exhibited during the event. Later this year, a second exhibition will showcase both these pieces and the collages created during the lab. All works will be compiled into a borrowable pop-up archive.
