The theme is Bananas & Anna Banana. Many of our members are « bananas » themselves, others are »fruity », a few are « nutty », and one is completely « ape ».
If you are none of these, don’t worry we can help you with specially designed projects and exams for your progress to the banana status you deserve.
We will also explore the many works of Anna Banana as we give appreciation for involvement in Mail Art & "Art".
PS I you are « crackers » or « loony », this group may not be for you.
Also: see link and fill in the form and return it to Anna Banana!
Hi Katerina, glad you liked it, I have a great time making banana art, the whole purpose of the banana art as I see it is fun,fun,fun and more fun. By the way the missing banana has gone to ... perhaps we find out soon.
Thanks Dean, your banana comes from Katerina's cut out, I am nothing if not thrifty. The brown paper by the way is made with banana leaves and I bought it in France a long time ago and didn't know what to do with it, until now.
Last weekend my wife went shopping and then called me from her cell phone. "Come quick with your camera, around the corner there's a man with a banana."
And sure enough, there he was;
Actually there were two of them.
This Banana thing has gone too far and I am now seeking professional help ... for my wife.
To start off the World Banana Day feast, Mail Art Martha sent me an origammyorgasmi origami banana. Amazing, and she was paid a FairTrade salary for doing it.
After hours of taking it apart and then putting it back together again, I came up with this drawing in case you are ever interested in doing one yourself.
Ok, here is the list of the 12 people taking part in the February 21 World Banana Day & the February 23 International Banana Bread Day held in Candace, Canada.
The idea is to have your banana piece arrive on one of these days. Good Luck and may the Banana be with you.
Dean I could have sent you the origami instructions, but I suppose it is more rewarding to find out by yourself. Well done! The instructions also said to crease each banana and open them by inserting a pencil on their tip, so they are more 3D.
Here's the Banana Day mailart I received from Alicia Starr. Very cool!! Funny thing was that.. I sent one out to her the same day I received her piece. Thanks Alicia!
