Post boxes

In my holidays I took photos of public post boxes sometimes, but sometimes I forgot it. Feel free to upload your own, but not letter boxes please.

Kerry Jeffrey , Postmaster in Oregon, USA! Good to see him here, and in Tokyo!

It's been a while since I visited this group, but I was in Athens last week...and naturally took photos of "Post" boxes, and the Central Greek Post Office at Syntagma Square (which is the scene of "riots" and protests). Note the "barigade" of the facade and chipped marble slabs on column, (pieces used for throwing at police):

The Greek post boxes all in a row

(once Ruud posted a photo of these, when they were new and without grafitti)

I like it Kerry! It's very creative: are there others like it?

The km post is interesting, too. In the good ole days before satnavs and GPS -- circa 1600 -- distances in towns in the UK were measured froM post office to post office, and I believe that this is still how they are measured today.

A Tokyo collection box cleverly designed to resemble a subway train.

This one is from, and features, our colleague Mail Art Martha, who devotes herself to shopping in her special land of Retailia. Her Page is good fun!
