Hello again Al/Val...it's called Mintroverts. It's up. It will probably just sit there. But, I did it. And it was fun. Thank you for your guidance.

Hello Al/Val...
Lovely works there. Thanks for sharing them.

Since you mentioned this song it has been stuck on a loop in my head. I'm still singing it. Not sure if this is a good thing or not.

All of the information you outline (yesterday and today)...very helpful...
I can't message a long rambling message unless we're friends. I wrote but ran out of characters.

Anyway:
All of the above.
Plus a surprise.
Plus much smaller.
Plus detail or not.

I have a title. Still working out the details. My extensive research shows there are other groups with a mini theme. This one would have a quirk that may or may not fly. Remains to be seen.

Plus. I am still new here. Not a lot of 'friends' to tell. It could turn out to be a group of one plus my cats. But the only art they make is distressed furniture.

A bientôt
Deborah/Betty

Hello Deborah, Hello Betty,

I've been thinking (a bit) about Minimalism. If you intend to use it as the title of a new Group, are you referring to:

i) the physical size of a piece of art, and, if so, what is the size?

ii) or, the minimalist style of art in general (abstract art, simple geometric or square shapes: I am working on an acrylic series of these that are 40 cms by 40 cms/ 16 x 16 inches: some examples below)?

iii) or, both?

iv) or, something else?

Over to you.

And Paul Simon...

I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al

Or Val

"If I call you Betty, you can call me Al"

Or Val.

Yes, do contact me on Monday: as we are in different continents and time zone, you may not receive an instant  reply, but you will get one.

Yes again, do start some sort of 'Minimalist Group. It is very easy to do so; All you really need to start off is a short description of what the Group is about, and then some photos of your Minimalist works. Create a few to start with, and offer to exchange them with the Group's members.

Look at the very, very first thing I posted for my Boring Postcards Group in which I set out the broad outline of the sorts of things I was looking for.

Then post a Blog informing everyone about it, and invite your Friends and members of other Groups you are a memberto to join. You will have to provide your email and physical address. And there will proably be someone, somehere, who doesn't respect your 'Don't send me....' policy, as Mail Artists don't always respect the 'rules'.

Over to you....

Regards, Val

Valentine Mark Herman...that's a long running group, sorry it isn't as viable as it was. Because it looks interesting and you guys seem to have really enjoyed it.
I'm giving thought to starting something but having not done so before (I run a small press but that's very different) not sure about the mechanics.
Can I contact you on Monday ?
Take care.

Yep, 12 years ago, Katerina.

Here are the posters from our two exhibitions in 2012. The second one -- "le Retour" -- was, I believe, one of the largest in Europe at that time with hundreds of contributions.

As to coming out of hibernation....well, many or most of the original members of, and contributors to, the Group are no longer active in IUOMA, so it would be a case of starting again...which might not be a bad idea.

But, I don't want to start it again. However, if you do Deborah, I will most willingly turn the Group over to you, or -- and I think this would be better -- you could start a new one more tailored to your own interests, even if it means dropping the Arty Slides. "Miniature Art"? Which is where we came in...!

Thanks for the welcome, Val.
Hi Katerina...sorry to hear about the lens surgery. I didn't think the group was dead...just quiet. I'm not well-versed on the group thing but am interested in exchanging/posting if anyone else is.

Arty slides not dead, just hibernating...

wow...those were the days! (really? 12 years ago?),

since my lens surgery, me no can do tiny slide art, sigh :-(

Welcome Deborah! See if you can  re-boot it? But I have no idea if any of the existing member are still interested in it. Bonne chance! Val

Anyone home? I know this group isn't really doing a lot but I like very small groups. I like very small art. So, here I am.
