Zentangle and Doodling

Zentangle and Doodling

Zentangle seems to have taken off here in the States. It's a relaxing and lovely art form. This group is for people who like to do zentangle and zentangle-like doodling.

I've seen those adult colouring book in the shops and wandering if I should get any but I do zentangles so there would be no need. Heart says yes but Mind says No.

Zentangles been on and off I think I discovered them while swapping ATCS when they were getting popular. Now I do them for meditative relaxation and some for ATCs. I'm into the zendalas they are both challenging and great. Can't link zentangles atc from my flickr photostream here is link

I need to add shading using one those stump thingies, torchon? Those rolled up piece of paper. I normally shade by hand.

I'm a newcomer to Zentangle (although I've been doodling for most of my life). At the moment, I'm working my way through "One Zentangle a Day" and I'm about halfway through.

Here are a couple of my recent ATCs:

Here's the laminated postcard that I received from Prairie Kittin. It's lovely, and thanks so much!

And it was much appreciated!

Stripygoose.... yes, I do send the postcards "naked". BUT, when they are lightweight, or if they are going overseas, I usually laminate them to protect from the elements and careless postal employees. In this case, the paper was too lightweight to go as a postcard. (I was using what was closest and easiest to grab on my way out the door. These were done while waiting at the pain clinic).

Here's the zentangle I'm talking about...
