Information

The Peace Crane Project for Japan

THE ONE THOUSAND PEACE CRANE GOAL HAS BEEN REACHED AS OF 1/6/12. (PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MORE PEACE CRANES.)

Thank you to everyone who made peace cranes!

There's a story told in Japan that if you make a thousand origami Peace Cranes, you or someone you love will be healed. This group is for those who wish to make an origami Peace Crane which will then be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Museum.

An update on this project: I know that 4" (10cm) is a bit small but hopefully if I receive 1,000 peace cranes, anything of larger size would be difficult to send to Japan. In that regard, all of the peace cranes I receive will be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Park Museum. In addition, I will also include everyone's name as well as an explanation of why the project came to be.

LTS, I was just about to ask if 10 cm is what you want.

I started a A4 page which is too big, I guess. So 10 cm square will be a bit tiny for my ol' fingers, but do-able. Imagine 1,000 Peace Cranes...they cannot be too big!

The small Peace Crane will be so:
