Hi Susan,
Nice to meet you!
Oh, you live in California!
My brother lives in Santa Rosa, CA so I've been to California.
I've been to USA 6 times so far to see him.

Well, it should be fun to exchange mail art with you.
I'll send you something made with washis.
But, I'm quite busy this month so I'll make it next month.
Here is one of my artworks made with washis.

I bought myself some nice washis as Christmas presents. hahaha!

My husband bought me "Recipe" washi last week for my birthday present and I wanted to have more because it's so pretty.

(hey, are we the only 3 in this group?)

I like the origins of the word (did Cheryl start the use of it at IUOMA I wonder...?), but for some reason I find it kind of diminutive sounding - rather cutesy and too craftsy sounding. So if i don't use it, you know why...:)

Oh, yes, you're right. It's Afrikaans!
Yes, it means "booklet".
I've just found out what it means on Google translation site.
I learnt Afrikaans thanks to you. :)
I look forward to receiving your "boekie"!
Thanks in advance.

Comment by vizma bruns on December 3, 2013 at 8:33am

Oh sorry, Kim! Your English is fine, boekie is (I think) Afrikaans? Anyway, it's just a word for a little booklet. So you'll be getting an artist's book from me! I finished it today!! -I just popped in to write down your address!!!

Thanks Claire, I'll check that out! I got a BIG bunch of washi packages yesterday! YUM! I'll share pics o the weekend...

I'm sorry about my poor English. :(
Thank you so much for your old envelope and Aussie boekie beforehand. :)

OMG, I just popped in to say Hello Washi Addicts" and so much has been shown here, I don't think I'll be able to sleep now!! Wowowowoww! Have you girls ever counted your rolls of tape??? Who's winning, I wonder??

Yes, Claire, that is my measly, meagre, entire collection of washi tape! (so far! Ha ha! Oh, and the 11 from yesterday!)  And that drawer is the neatest thing in my whole studio!!! I wish I could be more like Kim!!

I am IN LOVE with the airmail envelope washi, Kim!! I love airmail too, and just bought some old envelopes, so I'll send my mail to you in one of them...I worked on an Aussie boekie for you today!

AND I LOOOVE Claire's smelly fly-catching carnivorous botanical washi!!! Amazing! I have that plant in my garden and it stinks like meat to attract flies!! Please don't stop showing off!!! :-O

Comment by Claudia Garcia on November 30, 2013 at 12:54pm

Great guys!!!!! you have nice things to make fantastic mail arts. Here, in  Argentina, we don't have these kinds of things yet. We have to make handmade things to make a lot of things but it funny too.

enjoy so much!!!!!!

Kim: you have an beautiful and order studio!!!!!!!!
