I remove the barcode strips and recycle/stick 'em on collage cards...

but ALWAYS they are placed in an envelope, as the Greek postal robot

would surely go crazy! :-)

Hah!  well yes of course, and i would recommend putting pieces with those strips into a separate envelope or folder so they don;t come off and attach themselves to other pieces - tho that, too, could be considered "the barcode strip's choice".  I often take them off, espec.  when they cover an address I need to see, but sometimes I leave them on, for precisely the reasons you suggest.

21.11.15 Dare Ms Katerina N., Mister John M.B. & Mister Eduardo C., .....but wouldn't the placement of  a variety of recycled  barcode strips on mail art lead to an automatic & readymade Homage to Ben Vautier's  "The Postman's Choice"(1965)???.... or maybe "The Barcode Reading Machine's Choice"???...or does it become more like a Postal Lottery???? ...Ave uh nez dae. ..recycle those barcode strips back to mail art ? :-)

Is it zen?  Who can know it?!

those mail barcode strips can be pulled off easily without damaging the surface; they're designed to do that - i usually take them off, as they can start to come off by themselves in the files, and stick to other things -

John Bennet, that's a very interesting work. Looks almost like Zen paintings. Maybe it is Zen. :)
