IUOMA MOBMA (Museum of Bad Mail Art)

IUOMA MOBMA (Museum of Bad Mail Art)

I frequent thrift stores looking for frames and canvases that I can re-use. I find something sad and intriguing about the handmade art that finds its' way into the donation piles.  As an offshoot of the amazing Museum of Bad Art  (MOBA) http://www.museumofbadart.org/

I am hoping we can assemble a unique collection of the ugliest reject art out there. This can be one you find, something you have made, bad industrial art for the masses, or mail art flunks.  There is beauty in imperfection.

DKULT revises my mail art. Is this a (b)add and pass? The cardboard isn't holding up too well (the one I sent to DVS looks to have arrived in better shape than did this one to DK). It is the cardboard that USPS sends its stamps with when ordering on line.

Special delivery, indeed.

And turtles.

Even the mail barcode was added to, and now it looks confused, almost-whole, an arrhythmia.

Received bad mail-art from FinnBADger. Actually, it's a (b)ad & pass. That could be a whole new style: The Badd & Pass.

Can't believe the pic of Marie is gone & replaced with Vizma's underwear. Downward spiral!

Thong Thtealers are partial to YOUR thongs. Did they call flip flops thongs when you were a kid? They did when I was. Still no word from David. I'm thinking this was written by Dave Stafford UK--going to have to do a costly reprint!!

Carina---are you there? who won the contest?

My undergarments get into so much mischief, it apparently all happens while I'm sleeping. Thanks for publishing the detailed map, Diane, I'll have to follow those tracks to retrieve my not so delicates from those thieving thong thtealers.

sorry DVS--the only rule that is strictly enforced is that the winning art gets to be on the main page. Not sure if Carina will be choosing one so until then Marie will be there    David has refused to even acknowledge that he wrote The Thong Tree. He is now trying to say that he is being impersonated. Ranger Ron has been illustrating Hunting Manuals for years, but he says he has never met David-they only communicated via text and fedex. But why wouldn't David want to claim credit for this soon to be monsterpiece?

I picked up one of Finn Badger's misadventures at the PO this morning - thanks. This approach is really unusual and I'm looking forward to blogging it.

Also - wow, David's "Thong Tree" is, for me, one of the most impressive things he has ever done. That's saying a lot, given the body of work. It really is a case of just wanting to give up after seeing that because how can you top it?

And please, please - that pic of Marie that is the main group shot - please don't change that.
