IUOMA MOBMA (Museum of Bad Mail Art)

Information

IUOMA MOBMA (Museum of Bad Mail Art)

I frequent thrift stores looking for frames and canvases that I can re-use. I find something sad and intriguing about the handmade art that finds its' way into the donation piles.  As an offshoot of the amazing Museum of Bad Art  (MOBA) http://www.museumofbadart.org/

I am hoping we can assemble a unique collection of the ugliest reject art out there. This can be one you find, something you have made, bad industrial art for the masses, or mail art flunks.  There is beauty in imperfection.

I hate to say it, but in an effort to revive this group, I am moving it to facebook. To avoid the name debacle with the Museum of Bad Art, I am calling it the MooZoom of Bad Art. Please consider joining if you believe art comes in many forms and that sincere expression is the core of art and not the method of creation. We don't try to flame or judge, just appreciate art that, like a B-rated movie, is so bad it's good.

love it! beauty and blood=a recipe for disaster.  came across this 'excess plastic' sculpture. someone was trying to sell it on craig's list.  I'm not lying

This great opus of literature was in a pretentious antique store in St. Pete - they wanted waaaaay too much for it...and as much as I love it, I was not willing to part with $15...(sorry about the lack of focus...)

love it--can't tell which one of them is suspicious!

Annette Kesterson in San Francisco sent me some discarded book cover art that strikes me as relating to Bad Romance, literally.

Glad to see my misadventure arrived, FinnBadger. The bonus mishap makes it even better, although annoying. Diane's outhouses are natural and something of an old landmark... seeing it from here :)

Here are my picks for WORST house colors

Finn and Carina--any way I look at this from it's original to unveiled state, it looks great to me--not bad at all. I see it's not Carina's usual refined/dreamy style, but it is still pleasing. For some reason I was laying in bad last night thinking of the WORST house colors. I think i'm gonna mix up some disgusting colors and make little houses. glad the entries are literally pouring in!!!!

The first entry has arrived... all the way from Finland.

Wrapped in translucent paper and well-labeled... opening it felt like Christmas all over again

And then - mini-disaster - part of the protective covering was well-adhered to the art.

I tried as carefully as possible to remove it, but had to stop as I felt I would surely damage the beautiful misadventure.

So now it is worse/better. I wonder whether this (mis)add(venturous) extra step was intended or not by the artist?

Thank you, Carina.

And DKULT - bad photographs would be welcome - if there are enough there could be a digital category.
