Remember Abbie Hoffman's "Steal this Book"? He was making a similiar point, although in a commercial context. If Art was Free, the need to steal it woud be greatly minimised.

Next up on our superhero's Hit List should be the auction houses (Christie's, Sotheby's, etc) for encouraging commercially rapacious behaviour -- $millions for some Damien Hurst stuff, must be a joke!

No, don't change the logo/avatar thingy: it says exactly what needs to be said.

I am a surrealist in nature..so I get confusing..My mind jumps..my ideas grow past my time to make things..past my 9-5 and family life..I carry art around..

I don't mind your logo..I think it works..simple..to the point..the C with the line crossed  ..Free is such an open word..Free of ? but maybe that is what you want. I always liked Infected..But I saw a shirt with it..Surrealize I'm nutz. Just a silly term..I made ideas..I put my art to..Like Pill Fixer..meaning drug up world..to answer the worlds problems..Fragmented Skin..defining..how everything is at broken value. HAVM..my new art set term..talking about all these prints I am making with free paper..

as far as activism goes, HAVM, i mean calling out to people.

moving people.

you lost me, HAVM.

too many references i don't know i think. :-/

i'm thinking of dropping the copyright sign in the logo, after talking through ideas, it doesn't seem to really fit. copyright is a big thing to me, but free art and copyright seem to be too separate. i think it's excess fat on there and needs to be trimmed. lynda mentioned liking what i said here:

ART, in my opinion, is a way of speaking out to people, calling them from their daily lives, their routines, their entrapment in the system; and saying, "come out and play".

and i think this fits in well with the link MLAAC gave me for FLUXUS definition, bring art to the masses. instead of being an artist, be a meta-artist, pouring energy not into creating art, but getting others to create art. i think that's a great theme for this, and goes so well with what i said about FREE meaning "let loose"

anyone interested in revamping the logo?

i have no thoughts.

aesthetically, i liked the copyright sign,

but something better perhaps to emphasize the act of getting non-artists involved in making art?

Superhero, you have done wonders with FREE ART. In about two days you've created a global art movement. The rhetoric is tremendous. To FREE ART, I think everyone must have the opportunity to create a movement and lead it if they want to. All these new movements coming online are another way to subvert the existing system of cultural oppression. Through IUOMA it's easy to create networks of like-minded artist - what once took decades takes minutes. Hi Brent

I think of Art Activisim..

a person holding a sign saying..Make Thomas Kinkade do his own art!

Hock is your tired of Warhol.

how do you break down art-activism?

MLAAC  I am not a big Fb fan..I have it..but don't do much with it..It is like the child I didn't want..and gave it to Joli.

Interactive art would be cool..not add and pass..but post and change the location and post..Like the sock monkey on vacation. I don't know..art just to look at in this day in age? It has to have some what more ..As an artist I think that needs to be the dirrection..but how is the question..I would like to hear..Art there is a APP for that..but not graffiti or gallery artists..something more.

i think mainly i'm getting more and more interested in art-activism daily.

i'm just still working the neurons through where to take that, exactly.
