but in all seriousness, mlaac, for laweese, you should REALLY have a good look at open source law. especially the GNU GPL versus BSD licenses.

on the one hand, once it's gpl'd, any derivatives are, according to the license, automatically stamped with the license. once free, there is no going back. BUT it would not protect someone drawing from non-free works. it has to be original when you set your license, or derived from a public domain or other GPL work.

and on the other side of the coin is the BSD license, which allows people to incorporate the work into their own, but then proprietize it. steal it away from the public and place it into their own bank. much like disney did with the grim brothers.

I am not found of making fluxes..not as disrespect ..to anyone..it is just not my thing..I like a lot of what M.L.A.A.C. states..It has become "Industrail Music" and samples..what right do you have to use someone elses art?  and how do you call it your art? as an artist..These are just questions..I mean..this picture of a monkey is from a picture..and I changed it some..I don't own the monkey..can I sell it..sure..can some one own the rights to the image..yes..and still that Monkey doesn't belong to anyone..the animal is just a slave..if taken outside of its home.. put in a zoo..In the same line we all become slaves to trademarks and copy rights..still I don't want people to steal my work.

re: "a lot of FLUXUS artists copyright and sell their work..."

(a) there are a LOT of FLUXUS artists?!?!?! awesome!!

(b) does the copyrighting / sale of art automatically render the work (and by extension the artist) "non-FLUXUS"?

(c) can a fluxus artist make non-FLUXUS work, or is everything they do bound to the code of FLUX through its creator?

so many things to ponder....
