i meant 3d objects! but its i true about nude mail art?
if so, why do they sell nude postcards?
i mean if you started doing it on a mass scale.
one i'm sure is fine.
but say if you put three hundred...?
a thousand?
isn't i illegal though?
and screwing with the postal system is a federal offense! :-O
Funny Val..I was thinking of doing something like this..
Try this interpretation of Free Mail Art.
Make up an envelope that may or may not contain some art. Address it to someone -- anyone will do. Put the sender's address on the back, but NOT your address --someone else's.
Then post it WITHOUT a stamp.
One of three things will happen:
i) it gets delivered to the addressee anyway (who may be asked to pay, and probably will if the envelope is intriguing enough. OK, I know it's not free to him/her at that stage, but it is to you)
ii) it gets returned to sender -- who then gets some free mail art
iii) the Post Office bins it. Alas.
It works in France;

free is a very open word.
i like the interpretation of setting it free,
democratizing art.
getting art into the masses,
getting more people involved in creating.
but of course, you may do what you like with it!
it's free, after all!
i'm making packets with flyers and all the art from my wall (except the zombie call which is ongoing yet) and planning to give them to the public during our annual art festival here in iowa city this weekend.
and as for the sticky tack thing, i was contemplating the same sort of packets, with different contents, but sticky tacking them in places for people to find. it's not permanant, sticky tack comes off real easy. it's more like pinning it up on the wall, but you can put sticky tack a lot more places. it sticks to just about everything!
