Thank you, Guido...will keep the envelope simple. And perhaps we should not send too many to one person...hmm.
Comment by Guido Vermeulen on November 25, 2010 at 4:56pm
Be careful when you send mail art to China. Put the mail art in an envelope, don't work on the envelope. Don't mail too much to the same person. Chinese who have frequent contacts with "foreigners" become suspects and targets of the regime. I say this by experience.

Thank you for this group, Ruud. 'Will be sending mail art in envelopes as I usually do. (it is so less "confusing" for my Greek postal clerks!) But I will try a bit of envelope art. However, I will avoid the word "art" on the outside of the envelope, simply because of customs misinterpretations. Let's hope they go through!
Comment by Judy Skolnick on November 25, 2010 at 12:53pm
Since mailart is usually a card not in an "explosive" envelope or politically offensive, I would assume it would go through. Was the address right?
Comment by De Villo Sloan on November 25, 2010 at 8:30am
I'm with Judy - China has awesome art - and Chinese students I've met at US universities are often really enthusiastic about mail-art and collaborating. It's a great way to keep in touch. Glad this group is here.
