Don’t miss the opportunity to be in the first interactive networked art project through Pneumatic Post!

 

PNEUMAtic circus is a very special project curated by Vittore Baroni that will take place at the end of January 2013 at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin (www.hkw.de), part of the well-known transmediale festival for art and digital culture (www.transmediale.de) coordinated by Tatiana Bazzichelli and others.

 

A functioning pneumatic mini-network will be set up inside the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, connecting different rooms and spaces of the museum with the ramifications of an octopus-like installation.

PNEUMAtic circUS will allow an interaction at distance between international artists and the visitors present at transmediale.

In short, the participants are asked to create a small art capsule (with specific measures) that contains materials and instructions to give life to simple interactions with the audience at transmediale. The capsules will be dispatched randomly and used by visitors inside small “circus rings” at different pneumatic stations during the festival. Mail Art-style, the capsules will not be returned, but a free multimedial catalogue will be mailed to all the participants.

For the particular nature of the project, it will not be possible to circulate in the PNEUMAtic circus more than a hundred capsules: ca. 70 authors have already accepted to contribute, so there are still 30 “vacant spaces” for those who may be interested. The first 30 requests will get the invitation, but please hurry because the deadline for the arrival of the capsules in Berlin is near (December 10).
