well my friend I am but a canadian bush Injun but I think it is something written and not published

Is it possible that you have the term in reverse word order? Here is information about MANUSCRIPT LIBRARIES:

https://limbd.org/functions-of-manuscript-libraries-changing-role-o...

It has to do with preservation of documents:

Manuscript Library:

A manuscript library is a collection of handwritten or hand-copied documents, usually on parchment or paper, that are preserved for their historical, cultural, or literary significance. Manuscript libraries may also contain printed materials and other types of media, but their primary focus is on the preservation and study of manuscripts. Manuscript libraries can be found in many different types of institutions, including universities, museums, archives, and libraries. Some of the most famous manuscript libraries in the world include the British Library in London, the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris, and the Vatican Library in Rome. The collections within a manuscript library can vary widely in terms of their subject matter and time period. Some manuscript libraries may focus on a particular region or time period, while others may collect manuscripts from a wide range of cultures and historical periods. Manuscript libraries are important resources for scholars and researchers in a variety of fields, including history, literature, art history, theology, and linguistics. They provide access to primary source materials that can offer unique insights into the past and can help scholars to better understand the cultural, social, and intellectual developments of different historical periods. In the rest of this article, we are going to know about the functions of manuscript libraries, changing role of the manuscript librarian, preservation and conservation of manuscripts.

Thom Courcelle  you have just educated this old bushman lol Thank You

Thom

thank you very much

it fits.

I'm not sure what confused me.?!

Medwolf

thanks for maintaining a positive atmosphere

*I will answer the language question later...

Thom is correct.  "Library manuscript" refers to a collection, a special one, in that the contents are unique or hand-copied works that form a library.  Whereas illuminated manuscripts exist as single, unbound works, many are housed is bibles or related religious works such as a "Day of Hours".  I've owned individual leaves from manuscript books dating back to the early 1200s.  Personally, I find manuscript or typographed books and other publications fascinating.

Thank you Bradford

Zorica, it can be an old manuscript as in their collections of rare materials, and it can be also a "manuscript" that a writer gave them of an unpublished novel, a play, a poem, etc.

wiki says:

"A library manuscript is a handwritten or typed document, or a collection of such documents, that a library holds as part of its collections. These manuscripts can include letters, diaries, legal documents, literary creations, and more, often serving as primary sources for historical research. They are distinguished from published books because they are original, unpublished materials. "

I disagree with Wiki on the "published" status.  Before the mid 15th Century, there was only manuscript available as a technology.  A scriptorum was where much publishing occurred.  The process of copying existing manuscript volumes was performed to share religious works, stories, myths, history et al. If only printing had been invented earlier, we would not find marginalia left by scribes proclaiming their relief after having spent months of labor copying a particular work in the centuries before Johannes Gutenberg completed his 42-line bible using movable type.

thank you guys friends you helped me a lot. Honestly, I am most glad that you came to meet me.

Wikipedia is good for directing you to sources, so you don't waste time choosing literature.

I am quite insecure, I have a hard time making decisions without checking the facts.

I just needed confirmation for using that expression. It's just about parchment in general.

I also thank my friends for writing to me on e-mail
