The theme is: "Mermaids in the port, queens of the sea..." We invite you to participate and send an artist's letter. Free technique. On a postcard or any other object of your choice. You must be very busy, thank you for the prompt reply and specially for your kind thought of sending a second documentation.
The post delivery has suffered big delays indeed this crazy winter, even though we are having a very abnormal mild weather in Bavaria.
The catalog is beautifully made and very enjoyable with all the great contributions. Thank you for both!
I'm glad to hear about the new customs regulations, mail art needs good news in this respect!

'Expedite' is great - but I especially love your 'sixty six memories' - what a wonderful idea, and so perfectly executed. I am absolutely brand new to artistamps but I feel quite inspired. CONVOCATORIA DE ARTE POSTAL

TEMA: Mi ciudad a través de la óptica del Arte Postal

LA IDEA:  Somos un grupo de estudiantes de pregrado de Semiótica de las Ciudades, dentro de la carrera de Tecnología de la Comunicación, promoción de 2012, de la UFPR - Universidad Federal del Estado de Paraná, en Brasil.  Invitamos a todos los seres humanos de este y cualquier otro planeta  interesados en mostrarnos su ciudad a través de los creativos ojos de vuestra Arte Postal.  Tendremos sumo placer de mostrar vuestro trabajo a estudiantes, la comunidad académica y a todo el público que nos visite  

ANTECEDENTES: “El mes pasado invitamos a Patricio, el Escriba Celestial, miembro de IUOMA, a presentarnos Arte Postal en la universidad.  iFué una experiencia impresionante!  Mi grupo de estudiantes y yo nos enamoramos instantáneamente del Arte Postal básicamente en función de las múltiples conexiones existentes entre semiótica (el estudio de los símbolos y signos como elementos de comunicación) y el sorprendente  proceso creativo de las obras de la colección que Patricio tiene de los trabajos que recibe.

El grupo decidió que quería vivir su propia experiencia de Arte Postal y así nació esta convocatoria.  En breve la convocatoria se transformó  en uno de los procesos de evaluación de la disciplina de Semiótica de la Ciudades por parte de la universidad"

FORMATOS: Se aceptan los siguientes formatos

• Trabajos en cartón o cartulina gruesa tamaño tarjeta postal 10 x 15cm
• Trabajos de cualquier tamaño, desde que puedan ser doblados y quepan en un sobre padrón de  9 ½ x 41/2
• Trabajos/Objetos/Formas en 3D que puedan ser enviadas por correo
• Todo tipo de medias incluyendo texto, poesia, impresos y/o escultura
• Todos los trabajos deben incluir en la parte posterior: Nombre, Dirección completa, Título de la obra si es que existe y Técnica

REGLAS

• Sin jurado.  Sin censura.  Todos los trabajos serán expuestos desde que no contengan temática en desarmonía con el tema.
• Los trabajos no serán  devueltos y pasan a ser propiedad del Departamento de Semiótica de la UFPR – Universidad Federal do Paraná

CERTIFICACIÓN: La UFPR  emitirá y enviará certificados de participación a todos los participantes.

NOTA: La organización de esta convocatoria  sugiere y apoya que se utilizen los sobres y/o embalajes enviados como espacios artísticos a ser explorados por los participantes, además de los trabajos enviados.

Mi querido Jack: entre la República Celestial de Patland y la República del Pacífico existe una distancia geográfica abismal por no decir transplanetaria que hoy se ha reducido significativamente.  Agradezco la tarjeta que recibí y ciertamente haré la parte que cabe a un escriba celestial frente a tal situación: cumplir la palabra empeñada en una promesa celestial que te hiciera el 5 de noviembre.  

Resueltas las cuestiones protocolares vamos a las preguntas que no lo son tanto:

1.- Donde mando lo mío para participar de la exposición?  

2.- Por falta de espacio aqui, te mando una convocatória de este lado para la cual estás totalmente a tiempo en mensaje a seguir.  La fecha limite es el 3/12 - de aqui a 30 días- y tu tarjeta tardó apenas 8 para llegar aqui.  

Es eso mi más nuevo amigo postal del planeta Tierra. 

Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on October 21 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a Celestial Journey far beyond the Milky Way.
