Hi Nadine thank you again for all the really kind words. I also look forward to getting your wonderful original mail art. Your last mail was stunning and the envelope brilliant. I have been working quite a lot so far this year so I am sorry I haven't been letting people know I have received. I just get on and send back to whoever has sent me mail. I am busy making a book for Cheryl Penn - very nervous !!!!! take care , with love Karin (*!*) xx
Nadine, my friend, thanks a lot for the supercool butterfly card! I would love to do that too! ;-) Always great to get your mail! See you in the mail soon ...:-)))
That was a truly great Envelope you sent me -- great cactusy collage on the front, with all sorts of beasties and things making guest appearances, AND some weird LA dog walkers on the back (the dogs look quite normal though) AND the great tom-tom and piper black'n'purple card inside AND (this was the best bit) the extract from the book featuring my 'actress friend' Blanche. i keep warning her that if she keeps shoplifting, then she' will get into very serious trouble; She should stick to Mail Art like the rest of us, n'est-ce pas?
Her hair was exempt. That's a riot. I hope to fall short of my parents' ages--it gets to be a rough, exhausted road for many. I'd have given a whole lot to be able to spare my dad his last two awful years. Your mother sounds like a beauty guru I would actually consult. There aren't many, since I don't care.
Nadine, what an extra-beautiful deep plum envelope with drawings surrounds the one of your mother--it deserves a frame. And who can blame your mother for her claim? I believe her. It's such a waste of time, really. I'm tempted to do that myself--maybe going with dreadlocks would cut it. Thanks, Nadine ~
Use it as a fort--how perfect is that? My parents, who didn't argue nearly enough, did argue about the fallout shelter idea. Dad wanted to put one in our backyard in 1962; Mom didn't want to live through any of it. Mom won. Dad died at 90, Mom is still alive at 88. No fallout. What does it all mean? Ya got me. Soon I send you mail art, Nadine ~
Insuring the profession, haha--well someone has to, right? I've done my share. Those desks would've done a lot of good in a nuclear bombing, eh? When bigger, we just stood in the hall facing our lockers and put our arms over our heads. Did you do that? That would've done even more good.
You see them everywhere, and in your dreams too, eh? Yah, went to Bard '68-'72, when it had only 500 students. There was a lost year beforehand; no details on that. You mean you shipped a whole, big desk? Or one of those old kid ones? That's devotion! So your daughter is still playing school in the basement at age 32? Has she ever been to you for therapy? By the way, mail art from Alicia arrived same day as yours--that's kind of amazing.
I recieved your wonderful envelope full of goodies. Muchas Gracias. About
the add and pass, it's yours. I finished adding and send it to you. Enjoy. had a lot of fun working on it. Thanks for your comments. Something on your way soon.
Way late. I love that, "crazy interesting." Never had a school, no, except at age 10, forcing friends + siblings to pretend to be pupils in my basement. School meant Bard College in the tale you read a month ago or thereabouts. Today your Stan and Sylvia 1973 arrived--you must tell me who they are--relatives? What were you doing in Reno? Actually I'm almost sure you made them up, and they and the KNOTS in the KNOTTED pine walls are really great. Love it, thank you! Heh, know what you mean about the az stamps. They're beautiful, but I can't stand their politics either.
Nadine! You wonderful person YOU *!*
I received your "red headed" mail art today along with a gorgeous layered ATC!!
I always wait to open your mail in the evening when I am relaxing with a cup of coffee, the dogs all settled, so I can just enjoy the moment *!*
Thank you for that last night ;)
Will blog soon....
