So how is it that the US came to be known for hamburgers? This minimalist card made me laugh. The other "Young Star Fest" has a good theme as well. The back says Bon Appetit or actually "buon appetito and Guten Appetit". Love the torn out section adding an even more layered effect. Thanks Erni-you're spoiling me with all this mail but I'm not complaining!

Bonjour! I must have most of Oldfield's stuff. I don't know Gong at all.  If I come across any of their vinyl stuff I'll take a chance, Abba. (I don't do CDs: only vinyl and records). Regards, Hermans' Hermit

Right again Caroline -- I mean Erni. There were a number of pirate stations in the english Channel, which the French call La Manche (typical!) moored just outside the limit of UK's territoreal (?) waters. I was at University in the SE of England in those days, and for some reason could pick up radio London better than radio Caroline when I was outside London, but when I visited a friend's house in London, it was easier to pick up Radio Caroline. I've been listening to Mike oldfield in the last day or two. Quite relaxing stuff.

What a memory! Yep , Horace Bachelor and Clearasil are right. Horace's address was Keynsham. I seem to remember a Brylcreem  advert too. Magic number = 208

And hen after Radio Luwembourg came the floating 'piretae stations' like Radio London.

Which played, of course Herman's Hermits' records

Ah! The good old ole days of transistor radios. Remember Keynsham(Bucks? Wilts?) -- the address of the football pool company that was always advertising on Radio Lux;

I wonder if Erni ever wanted to be Teenage idol -- or an idle Teenager?

Just a thought, Regards, Herman's Hermit

I will Cherish Erni, and worship his idols

I probably should know, but, alas, don't, so must ask -- who is Senator Watrin?

Look forward to receiving your card, Erni.

We should worship, or at the very least cherish, Erni. I think that he's famous, but neither know nor care if he is rich.

Yeah, it's ridiculous that they always make such a big deal about things like this. And they always seem surprised that people who value power over all other things in life end up in sex scandals. I could care less about the private lives of politicians, actors, sports figures, artists for that matter etc. It's their personal business. But so many people worship the rich and famous.

And then of course, there is the Hamburgler courtesy of the evil McDonald's making America fat since way back. And then the recent scandal with Congressman Weiner.
