From the Catalogue:

Like Diane Keys and Nadine Wendell-Mojica, Bruns is a culler of culture, a diva of detritus who captures the zeitgeist daily in scraps of ephemera. The gestalt of the assemblage IS the art, a snapshot (or scrapshot, if you will) of a flailing culture amid which we flounder, up to our eyes in the onslaught of imagery that pounds us into a torpid state. As you walk though the gallery don't miss the warp and weft of the image Bruns weaves with her selections.

Again, quoting from the catalogue:

The envelope becomes, in this instance, a sacred vessel that carries the fragments awaiting assembly in your heart.

These are from the Vizma Bruns Retrospective exhibition at the Waitpinga Museum of Modern Art, (WMOMA) which is in the old Oddfellows Hall on Koala Boulevard. They have painted it black recently so don't look for the lime green siding because it's not there. Thank you, Vizma.

Won't work if I don't remember a thing.

I think we're going to have to go the sodium pentathol route with this one.

It's all coming back to me now, David. Yes, yes, I drew that tattoo thing...

I think Diane sent this to me.

Vizma, for the sake of my credibility, would you, this once, just pretend you sent me the tattoo thing. As you know, by the IUOMA bylaws, false blogging is punishable by Add & Pass. That's harsh, man. I promise I will make this up to you.

I'm stoked that a Pole-ish dancer and a cowboy attended my retrospective show. Thanks David, I'm giggling away here! (I don't think I sent you that tattoo portrait...?)

Vizma identifies with Divine, and this is more proof. It turns up in the m-a. She was faith healed by John Waters. That's a fact. Others can confirm it. Very nice blog.
