The GENTLE GIANT, Postcard from Tim Collapse (0228-1119)

Does the name JDIMYTAI DAMOUR ring a bell? No? That’s alright if it doesn’t, but I’m hoping after you read this you will never forget him. I know I won’t.

Mail Artist Tim Collapse sent this commemorative postcard to me. I received it the day before Thanksgiving; two days before Black Friday.

Known as ‘Jimbo’ to his friends, Damour lost his life on November 29, 2008 at the age of 34. The way he died was truly senseless. He was trampled to death by a stampede of Black Friday shoppers at a Wal-Mart in Valley Stream, NY. Jimbo had been hired as a temporary maintenance man just a week before the tragedy. You can read the full story HERE.

The circumstances surrounding Mr. Damour’s death sadden and anger me. It shouldn’t have happened.
Thanks for sharing, Tim!
