Squares on a string from Marie Wintzer in Japan

This is a wonderful piece that I found myself playing with for hours.  No scans or photos can give you an idea of what it is like and what it can do.  So I have decided to make a video of it to show you.  So watch this space on the 16th of May when I hope to have it finished.

Until then, here is a photo Marie also sent me.  You can see Marie in the shadow taking the picture, or maybe not.

I can't find the link for that video, why isn't it here?  Oh here it is; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ORlLCxEBuA&feature=youtu.be

Well after all, it is Cheryl Penn's birthday today.

I love the knot reference. Yep. I think Dean will be wearing it as a necklace, but the outfit he wants to wear only goes on sale on Aug 15.

Thank you Dean, and thank you dear genkis, you are so kind. Carina, the black and white are cut-outs from old magazines I find at "book town". There is a whole street down town full of old book stores, it's paradise. Can't wait to see the video, Dean. May 16, I wonder why such a random day...

It's bold and elegant, yet soft and playful at the same time. And I am STILL in awe of that evocative photograph--sooooo captures Japanese culture!

It's almost impossible to name all the attributes of Marie's work. It stumps me. I've tried in blogs, but as Bifidus once said, in the end, "you just have to hold it in your hands." This looks like another gorgeous and indescribable piece, and Dean, May 16 seems too far away, hint hint.
