Sacrificial Artifact - Karen Champlin - U.S.A

I have had to wait so long for this.  If ever, in a hundred years, THEY dig in my cupboards, THEY will know that this is a genuine artifact.  Its asemic, poetic and authentic. Its Karen of course. Wrapping cardboard daggers in red thread, pasting  onto paper slabs. And the back says, Happy Birthday.

K.C. - SO great to see you again :-) X

"Sacrifice"...a beautiful statement by Karen! Deeply rich in color and feeling!

I agree DVS - there is sacrifice involved in the creation of all things good.

To me, Karen Champlin is speaking about the sacrifices involved in artistic creation. I know she digs deep within herself and brings back this art that moves us and thrills us.

Artifact of the highest order. What a great piece, Karen ~

This is great Karen! The stamp looks like the dagger's owner's head with a headress - all very tribal.

Also an artifact because Karen seems to be digging back through her own work - this harkens back to the stamp layering work she did that has had such an impact on visual poets at IUOMA.

Like an archaeological finding....
