Ah, that "G" stamp is for US addresses only? 'Guess I can't get one.

Well, very clever to put the selvages right where the cancellation would go...

and from "West Palm Beach" no less, classy!

'Luv the old "Special Delivery", too!

I have a linguist friend who despises the useage "very unique".  His reasoning is that unique is singular state that cannot be qualified.  I believe that unique is not always interesting, significant, or important.  That makes this postcard very unique.

Here, the address is on one side, but the spray-on postmark/cancellation is on the other.  In both cases, there is adequate postage to mail the card (35¢-rate).  The franking on this side is comprised of an Emergency Letter Rate "G"-stamp (32¢) with a "C"-stamp (20¢) for a total of 52¢ postage.  Her clever use of selvage allows the perfectly applied postmark/cancellation to be be fully visible.  But, how did she know that this side would be treated as the "front"?

Meanwhile, on the other side the address and inscription share space with used US stamps, a Cinderella stamp (Aristamp) by Keith S. Chambers, a piece of ephemera (tea bag tag) and a valid 37¢ Andy Warhol stamp (making of total of 89¢ in postage, or 54¢ in their favor) positioned correctly at the top right such that the facing machinery could have picked this side to apply the postmark/cancellation.  Knowing that I share a love of fountain pens,  there, Patricia made that reference as well.  Many bases are covered with this delightfully assembled card that surely came out of the automation somewhat miraculously in as good a state as could be imagined.
