And below:   "Crossing Borders".  [After looking at a print of an art piece she created in 2021 and detecting a dramatic landscape, Carien has cut out a portion of it and re-birthed it into "Crossing Borders", which she refers to as "an accidental creation."  I can so relate to this act of re-looking at our own (or others') artwork and suddenly seeing something unexpected--another idea, or possibility, or direction, perhaps. I love that even mere excerpted fragments of something can evolve into separate, newly imagined, completely different art pieces.   My little camera does not do justice to the colors here.]
