Rare Dean Marks piece at French flea market - SOLD!! (well, almost...)

Dean has sent me some mail-art while I was in France. Since there was a flea market coming up that weekend I though it was a perfect opportunity to get some good cash. I was sure of the success of this project, as the piece contained some rare british mail-art omens, as well as a unique "Manoir aux Visons en Alsace" address.

... oh yes, and also because my parents said no, this cannot be on the mantelpiece, nor can it be on the "table de chevet". Parents are so boring.

Day D, 5.00am:

I thought that 100 Euros was a very good price for this masterpiece. But time passed and....

Day D, 7.10pm:

I was starting to despair when the miracle happened. A movie star (or so she says) from Siberia, big fan of Dean Marks, heard of the event and took the first flight to Geispitzen. She is a mail-art collector, apparently, she said she had been looking for such a piece for years!! Comme quoi, il ne faut JAMAIS désespérer! :-)))

Marie is no outsider here. She is very well loved, by too many to count, including me. She doesn't need a formal invitation back, just as no one would have wanted her to leave--people will always welcome her with open arms. I know she knows this, so who can say what's going on here in this comment thread. Maybe it needs a noat-book to document it.

Thank you Ms. Janine Weiss. I am sure - in absentia - Empress Marie manages a smile from the tears, knowing you support her return to the IUOMA.

Thank you Valentine Mark Herman for supporting the return of Empress Marie (Marie Wintzer) to the IUOMA.

She has re-applied to be admitted. She waits day after day. But no action is taken to admit her. Has mail-art turned its back on her? Why?

She can only gaze in, an outsider, upon this great carnival that she herself helped create. She cannot comment. She cannot share the genius of her work.

Thus MinXus-Lynxus begins an international mail-art petition. And only two friends from IUOMA dare call for her return and support her in this most difficult time:

Lynn Radford

Mark Valentine Herman

Deepest thanks to them. Thank the heavens compassion and altruism lives in some, although it appears to absent in the many.

Where are those who once called Marie Wintzer a friend when things were easy? Sadly, they abandon her in her time of need.

I am United!

With M-A's cause, of course

Thank you Ms. Lynn for daring to speak about about the issue of the Empress Marie's re-admittance to the IUOMA. Until she is allowed to re-enter, MinXus-Lynxus Freedom Fighters will broadcast Radio Free Alsace messages from within IUOMA bringing news of Empress Marie. The MinXus-Lynxus blog has been re-established in a new location:

The Empress MUST be allowed to reign once again at IUOMA! Her contributions, too numerous to mention in detail, far outweigh any trumped up wrong doings! Support your local IUOMA in restoring the Empress! Such creativity must not be stifled by TOXIS and their numerous agents far and wide! (On a side note, I wonder if her IDKard would help in the process...)

Thank you Dark wall, this is the best news I have yet to hear.  And off the record, she did mail her teeth to me on a string.  Very creative indeed.

This is amazing Marie, I love it! I wonder though if the reason that the fantastic Marks was not sold earlier is that you addressed the French in English, zut alors!. You must know that there are historic reasons for this.
I went to your page to see more of your things and found out that you are no longer in IUOMA. Ohhhhh... boo hoo, just when I discover a kindred soul.
