At last and with impeccable timing Dan's Barfa gift arrived in yesterday's mail. I have tried to reproduce the packaging with a bit of bastardized photoshop lyricism. One of the downsides of being generally out of it when it comes to cultural phenomena like Mr. Hung is a certain oblivious to what is happening deep in the heartland. A google I made this morning, however, has brought me up to speed and now I cannot wait to hear what Mr. Hung hath wrought when it comes to the standards. Dan also included (in what I assume is a flagrant violation of the bylaws of the Barfa Exchange) a fine art print.

However since it was used as wrapping I suppose the keepers of the bylaws (whoever they might be) will allow this detour into the world of high culture. As many of you know certain intersections of the high and the low may cause a break in the space time continuum with ensuing chaos and many tears. It may be too early to tell whether Dan's combo platter will do us in. In the meantime we give thanks that no lawyers were enlisted to settle the matter. Thank you, Dan and Snappy Holidays to everyone including the less well hung.

What's more American than nut cracking?  I love his little outfit.  do people wear ugly xmas sweaters in England Rebecca? There has been a resurgence here and they are actually now being sold as a trend instead of a fashion don't.  KDJ sends the best packages--can't wait to see more

OMG - KDJ sent you a nutcracker!

KDJ sent me this altered nutcracker! Fabulously demonstrative, and American.  I will treasure it. The hat comes off so the nutcracker might even work, although we haven't had the temerity to test it yet… As you will see from the tree in the background, we already have an assortment of BARFA that we dig out, annually, so KDJ's piece fits right in.

Actually, KDJ sent me quite a lot, and it was all wrapped exquisitely. In England we have Christmas crackers and that's where you find the jokes.  I guess the tradition in Orlando must be to put jokes on the outside of presents.

I will blog the entire oevre soon.  For now you'll all just have to make do with this taste of KDJ's wonderful parcel!

Oddly, the reason I can't do more now is that I am occupied entertaining my mother who is visiting, but usualy lives one lake over KDJ in Orlando.

Diane, huge thanks for pairing me with KDJ.  I'm chuffed to bits. I think we should take up a collection, though.  The parcel she sent cost over $24!

NotHiNg--I'm honored to have this display on your lovely piano. I hope they inspire you to sing many a christmas song.  You have proved the law of attraction--what you send out in the universe comes back to you and then some. you sent me a bobble jesus and you got two back.  I couldn't figure out why God would send that poor kid to twin baby jesus' but that has had to create a lots of confusion in his life

DK sent me a box full of incredibly tacky Christmas stuff seen here adorning my piano. They will brighten many Holiday seasons to come. I especially enjoy the Nativity with two babies. I was unaware that Jesus had a twin.
